GET.invest Finance Access Advisor

Project Management

Brussels

Assignment period: Dec 2026 – June 2028

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

GET.invest (https://www.get-invest.eu/) is a European programme that supports investments in clean energy projects in partner countries. It is implemented by GIZ on behalf of the European Union, Germany, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Austria, and is part of the GET.pro platform (https://www.global-energy-transformation.eu/). The programme contributes to the European Union’s Global Gateway and focuses on Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as selected activities in the Caribbean and Pacific.

The Finance Access Advisory (FAA) is the core investment-facing component of GET.invest. Since 2016, FAA has supported more than 600 companies and infrastructure projects and contributed to over EUR 500 million in financial close. FAA works with a pool of highly experienced senior transaction advisors, including former DFI, corporate, and project finance professionals with deep sectoral expertise.

We are looking for an Advisor (M/F/D) to support the FAA component of Get.invest for our office in Brussels.

The Advisor will strengthen the team’s capacity to manage internal processes related to structured and automated applications intake, systemic communication, insights and data reporting, and knowledge management. The position specifically focuses on bridging the technical advisory work with communication and knowledge dissemination, contributing to the visibility FAA activities.

The Advisor will be embedded in the Finance Access Advisory team and report to the thematic and HR-responsible leadership.

YOUR TASKS

  • Reporting to the Head of Advisory, coordinate the end-to-end FAA intake process, including screening and tracking of applications as well as adapt and quality-check automated processes.
  • Manage the coordination and development of the FAA Knowledge Hub, including structuring and maintaining knowledge products across GET.invest Finance Catalyst and Finance Readiness Support programmes.
  • Lead the preparation of internal and external communication materials related to FAA activities – in coordination with relevant teams – bridging the gap between the technical workstreams and the generation of digestible insights and stories under the strategic direction and of the Head of Communications.
  • Coordinate structured reporting to ad-hoc data and portfolio information requests.
  • Support day-to-day operations of the GET.invest Finance Readiness Support, including contract and budget management, implementation oversight, quality assurance, and reporting.
  • Focal point for the lusophone countries, clients and stakeholders; support and further develop the geographic expansion of GET.invest in Central and Latin America.
  • Shape relevant contributions to GET.invest high visibility events.
  • Coordinate with other GET.invest thematic teams and support functions to ensure coherent delivery of Finance Access Advisory activities.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities in line with programme needs and evolving priorities.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in international relations, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant professional experience, including progressive responsibility in project management, in renewable energy private sector development, technical assistance and finance in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to knowledge management and condensing highly technical renewable energy and finance content into digestible formats.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in content generation and dissemination via online platforms (e.g. LinkedIn) for renewable energy and access to finance in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Experience working in international development contexts for renewable energy and finance, including exposure to private sector markets in sub-Saharan Africa, and familiarity with EU-funded programmes implemented by international organisations and development agencies.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate across diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while operating in a multi-stakeholder, programme-based environment.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese; Spanish/German language is an asset.
